March 2019 Update: Pretty Good! (and some phantom money)

March numbers:

  • Personal:
    • Gross monthly W2 pay: $4,833 (no change from prior month)
    • Net monthly W2 pay: $2,834 (no change)
    • Total credit card debt: $20,300 (-$1,091)
    • Total other non-mortgage debt: $2,104 (+$8)
    • Total mortgage debt: $113,260 (-$728)
    • Cash/cash equivalents: $12,038 (-$2,842)
    • Total retirement savings: $143,965 (+$3,606)
    • Net worth: $20,339 (+$2,575)

Overall a decent month. The bright spot is the decline in the credit card debt from the prior month. This was mainly the result of paying off some bad decisions from January and February without, and here’s the key, not replacing them with new bad decisions. Cash declined for the month, but only because I sold some stock out of my old ESPP and the check is in the mail. And for once that’s true.

The other improvements – to retirement savings and total net worth –  were mainly the result of market increases. So, a pretty good month. Nothing stellar, but a solid bit of work. Also, I found a new update image! Yay!
